Designing a customized T-shirt may sound like a dream come true, but it can be a daunting task if you don’t have the proper tools or resources. Lucky for you, we specialize in custom apparel designs here at Morningstar. Not only do we offer printing for customizable designs, we involve you in the creative process. We want our customers to feel like they had a hand in making the magic happen. That’s why we installed a simple yet effective design tool on our website to make creating your ideal t-shirt as easy as possible.
With the holiday season right around the corner, we have made a step-by-step guide to using our tool. We will walk you through each step so you can easily design your perfect shirt from the comfort of your own home. We’ll take care of the printing for you!
On your phone or in your computer browser, type in https://morningstartshirts.com. Once you’re there, click “Catalog” on the top left corner, near the Morningstar logo. This will bring you to a screen showing you all the different fabrics and apparel types to choose from.
On the left hand side of the screen, choose the fabric or apparel type you would like to use. Whichever fabric or apparel type you choose, you will see a list of different options and colors to use. For example, if you click “short sleeve shirts,” you will see a variety of fabrics and colors to choose from that are short sleeve. Once you decide on your shirt type, you will be brought to a page dedicated to that shirt. There, you can click on the color you want on the right hand side, which will change the shirt color on the model. We have a lot! You have the option to upload your design at this time, just in case you want to see what color looks best. If you know what you want, head to the next step!
After picking your color, the second step will appear. This is where you can upload the design you want on your shirt. Click the button that says “Upload”, then click the box that says “Upload”. This will let you pick a design from your computer files. Your design will appear over the model.
If you didn’t in the last step, you can upload your file now. Now you can click on your design and adjust the size by dragging the corners up to make it smaller, or down to make it larger. You can also click “Location” on the right hand side under where you uploaded the design to choose which area of the shirt you would like your design to be. We recommend clicking around and trying them all out until you see something you like.
If you don’t want to do it visually, we provided boxes for you to manually decide the location, ink style, width, height and other notes. If you can’t get it how you’d like it, please feel free to write any adjustments you have in the notes, and we will be in touch! A real person always reviews these designs before the go to print so there aren’t any mistakes.
In this step, you will have to choose your ink style. Discharge ink and Plastisol ink are both commonly used in screen printing, but they have different properties and applications.
In essence, discharge inks are water-based and provide a soft, natural finish on light-colored fabrics by removing existing dye. It works well on Cotton. Plastisol inks offer vibrant colors and durability on a wider range of fabrics, with a thicker feel. The choice between them depends on the desired look, feel, and type of fabric you’re working with.
When all your designs are uploaded and placed in their correct locations, now you can move onto naming design. This is quick and easy! Just type in the name and you’re done.
All of the creative steps are done! Now all that’s left to do is decide your quantity and purchase your order. When you enter your payment details, congrats! Your t-shirt order is complete and your designs are ready to be printed.
